ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Friday forecast rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls for scattered places in Sindh, Punjab, eastern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
According to the synoptic situation, heat low was lying over north Balochistan. Monsoon currents were penetrating in southern parts while moderate monsoon currents are also penetrating in upper parts of the country and likely to intensify during next 36 hours.
A westerly wave is affecting northeastern parts of Afghanistan and its adjoining areas.
Rain-thunderstorm is likely in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Karachi divisions in Sindh.
While in Punjab, rain-thunderstorm is likely in Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan divisions, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal and Rawalpindi divisions.
In eastern Balochistan, rain is likely in Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi and
Naseerabad divisions.
The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was Sindh: Diplo 53 mm, Badin 34, Mithi 33, Chhor 05, Shaheed Benazirabad 03, Sukkur 02, Jacobabad 01, Punjab: Kot addu 49, Bahawalpur (Airport 16, City 02), Multan 05, Layyah 04, Bahawalnagar 03, Balochistan: Lasbella 13, FATA: Parachinar 05 mm.
The maximum highest temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Turbat 43 C and Dalbandin and Chillas 42 C.
