PESHAWAR, June 2 (APP): At least four persons died and 23 were injured in recent rain related incidents in different parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa while the Met Office has predicted more heavy showers during next 24 hours in upper parts of the province.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesperson told APP on Thursday that four persons had been killed in last night rain including two in Peshawar, one each in Nowshera and Charsadda district.
He said the rain has brought havoc in Peshawar where the casualties occurred due to typhoon.
As many as four persons sustained injuries in Peshawar, 18 in Nowsehra and one in Charasadda district.
The torrential rain also damaged two houses in Peshawar, one each in Nowshera and Charsadda district respectively.
The Spokesman said staff of revenue department has been sent to the field for report of detailed damages any other by district disaster management officers in the province.
Meanwhile, the local Met office has predicted thunderstorm rain at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan and Bannu divisions in next 24 hours.
The torrential rain is expected in next 24 hours as western disturbance was affecting upper parts of the country and was likely to persist till Friday.
The Met Office while referring to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said dust thunderstorm rain occurred at scattered places in Peshawar, Malakand and Hazara division during last 24 hours. As many as 26mm rain was received by Peshawar (A/P), 16 mm by Peshawar City and 15 mm by Parachinar.
Dir has received 11mm rain followed by Cherat 9mm, Malamjabba and Drosh 03mm, Kakul, Pattan 02mm and Lower Dir 01mm.
