PMD forecast more rain, major rivers flowing below flood level

ISLAMABAD, June 27 (APP): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast rain in most parts of the country during next 24 hours.

According to PMD, Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending southeastwards.

Monsoon currents are penetrating the country and likely to continue during next couple of days.

A westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of the country tonight and likely to persist during next 2-3 days.

Widespread rain/dust-thundershower with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected in Sibbi, Quetta, Zhob, Makran, Kalat, Nasirabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha,
Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal,Bahawalpur, Multan, D.G Khan, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Karachi, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hazara, Malakand, Peshawar,Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, DI Khan, FATA,Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during 24 hours.

Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours: Parachinar 50mm, Dir 2mm, Punjab: Sargodha 56mm, Chakwal 16mm, Islamabad 6mm, Mandibahauddin 12mm, Kashmir,Kotli 4mm, Balochistan: Barkhan 1mm.
Highest Maximum Temperatures recorded: Bhakkar, Bahawalnagar 46øC, Noorpurthal, Dadu 45øC.

According to latest Hydrological situation River Kabul at Nowshera in low flood level. All the other major rivers are flowing below flood level.
