ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): No significant rain is likely on the occasion of Independence Day, falling on August 14, and hot and humid weather conditions would prevail in most parts of the country.
Senior Meteorologist, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Muhammad Ayaz told APP that the weather would remain hot and humid during the next week in most parts of
the country.
However there are chances of light or moderate rain during night time or early morning at the upper parts including few places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
“We are not seeing any monsoon weather system which can bring significant rain during the week. Humidity can rise with increasing temperatures”, he observed.
The weather system which was causing monsoon rains has vanished for the time being, he said.
According to the met office the rainfall (mm) recorded during the last 24 hours was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Balakot 62, Dera Ismail Khan 41, Malamjabba 26, Kohat 09, Dir 08,
Parachinar 02,Kakul, Pattan, Saidu Sharif , Cherat 01.Punjab: Kasur 28, Murree, Bhakkar 18, Lahore 13, Bhawalnagar 05, Kamra, Multan 02, Noorpurthal and Layyah 01; Kashmir:
Muzaffarabad 10, Kotli 06, Garhi Dupatta 02; Gilgit-Baltistan: Bunji, Gilgit 02, Bagrote, Chillas and Gupis 01.
The maximum highest temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Nokkundi 43 C, Rahim Yar Khan, Turbat and Dadu 41 C.
