ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP): A light to moderate rainspell would continue till Tuesday morning with scattered rain expected at Punjab, Khaber Pakhunkhwa (KP), Kashmir and Eastern Balochistan.

“No heavy rainfall is expected during the spell”, an official
of Met office told APP adding, there are few chances of moderate intensity flash flooding at North East Balochistan only whereas  no such forecast for any other area.

In next 24 hours rain-thunderstorm with windstorm is expected at scattered places in upper and central punjab, Kashmir, KP, FATA, Eastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Met office informed that during the period of 1st to 22nd July
rainfall over the country as whole has been close to its normal value (-9%).

On regional scale, variability of rainfall has so far been
observed with above normal over GB and KP and below normal over Sindh and Balochistan while close to normal over Punjab and AJK.

Rainfall is expected at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore,
Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir,
while at isolated places in KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions), FATA, Eastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Due to rain there are chances of landslides in Malakand,
Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Light rain/drizzle is also expected along Sindh-Makran coast.

Seasonal low lies over north-Balochistan and its adjoining
area. A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours.

In last 24 hours weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Malakand, divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours was Punjab: Lahore A/P 07mm,Islamabad (Saidpur), Rawalpindi (Chaklala), Mangla, Joharabad 03mm, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Malamjabba 24mm.

Maximum temperatures recorded on Saturday remained Shaheed Benazirabad 46øC, Padidan, Dadu 45øC, Larkana, Bahawalanagr, Okara, Rohri, Sibbi, Sukkur 44øC, Lahore 43øC, Hyderabad 42øC, Faisalabad 41øC, Multan 41øC, Peshawar 38øC, Islamabad 37øC, Karachi 36øC,  Quetta 35øC, Muzaffarabad 36øC, Gilgit 33øC, 30øC, Dir, Skardu
32øC, Chitral, Kalat 30øC, Hunza 28øC and Murree 26øC.
