LAHORE, Sep 03 (APP):Cloudy skies with scattered showers persisted in the city on Wednesday, with the MET Office forecasting similar conditions over the next 24 hours.
Light to trace rain was reported from various localities throughout the day, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. According to MET officials, monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea were penetrating northeastern parts of the country, while a westerly wave was also influencing the upper regions, likely to continue till today.
They predicted mainly dry weather in most upper districts, while hot conditions were expected in the southern parts of the country.
Rainfall was recorded in several cities including Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Murree, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Kakul, Malam Jabba, Balakot, Rawalakot, Kotli, Garhi Dupatta and Skardu.
The day’s highest maximum temperature was reported in Dalbandin and Nokundi at 42°C, while Lahore recorded 28°C.
