ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (APP): Youm-e-Ashur, the 10th Muharram ul Haram, is being observed throughout the country on Wednesday with due solemnity and sanctity to pay homage to the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in the battle of Karbala, Iraq in the year 61 AH (october 10 ,680 AD) .

According to a news channel, the day is being observed to commemorate the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his 72 companions at Karbala to uphold the truth.

Alam Zuljinah and Taazia processions were being taken out in all big and small towns across the country.

The Ulema and Zakireen have also highlighing the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) to the audience in this regard .

The central procession in Karachi was taken out from Nishtar Park and will conclude at the time of Maghrib at Hussainia Iranian Imam Bargah.

Cameras have been installed at 275 places to monitor the processions and more than 15,000 policemen have been deployed to ensure safety of the participants of the rally.

The rally will pass through Numaish Chowrangi, M.A. Jinnah Road, Imam Bargah Ali Raza, Sea Breeze, Empress Market, Regal, Tibet Centre and Bolton Market to conclude at the Hussainia Iranian Imam Barga at Kharadar.

Mobile phone services in several cities in Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad have been suspended from 12 till 7:30 PM in view of the security situation.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited Jacobabad to review the security arrangements. He also visited victims of last year’s Muharram 9 blast in Jacobabad.

Strict security measures have been taken along the routes of processions to avoid any untoward incident.

On this occasion, special security arrangements have been made for the maintenance of peace. Police pickets would be established on all entry and exit points of the processions.

Hospitals have been asked to remain alert for any emergency situation.

Security has been tightened in Rawalpindi where police personnel and Rangers were deployed on the routes of the procession.

In all major cities of Punjab, strict security arrangements would be made for the processions of 10th of Muharram. Security has also been tightened in all the Imambargahs and routes of the processions.

In Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, all roads leading to Imambargahs have been sealed and strict security has been ensured for the processions.
