LAHORE, June 30 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz
Sharif Thursday said that Pakistan and China were bound in
everlasting relations of friendship.

The CM expressed these remarks while talking to a delegation
of journalists belonging to Chinese electronic and print media
here.

The chief minister congratulated Chinese government,
leadership, people and journalists on 95th anniversary of the
Communist Party of China.

The relations between Communist Party of China and Pakistan
Muslim League N were strengthening, he said.

“China has made rapid progress due to great Chinese
leadership,” he added.

He said that Chinese leadership had implemented its vision
and made the country developed and prosperous that is why China
had become a second economic force of the world.

The CM said Chinese leadership and people had achieved
a commendable place in the world through untiring hard work,
struggle and uniqueness.

The chief minister said Chinese President Xi Jinping had
set a new direction by giving a vision of one ballot one road and
this was the vision of development, prosperity, peace, accommodation,
tolerance and brotherhood.

Referring to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Shehbaz Sharif
said the CPEC was a great gift by Chinese leadership and exemplary partnership had been made between China and Pakistan through the CPEC which was moving forward speedily with every coming day.

Shehbaz Sharif said the CPEC would not only change the course
of history of Pakistan but the entire region and generations of
Pakistan and China will not only benefit from the CPEC but a huge
population of the region will be benefitted.

He said due to this splendid investment package, such
opportunities would be created a new era of progress and prosperity.
He said China had given investment package of 46 billion dollars to Pakistan in difficult hour.

New history had been written due to the CPEC in Pakistan,
adding that a new history will be written when energy, infrastructure and other projects would be completed under the CPEC as the work was being carried out speedily on this projects, he said.

He said work was continuing rapidly on energy projects under
the CPEC throughout the country including Punjab and these projects
would be completed before the stipulated period.

Referring to Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project, the chief minister said that metro train was a splinted gift for the people of Pakistan by China and China had made the whole investment for this project. He said China had also released second installment of funds for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project.

He thanked Chinese leadership and Exim Bank of China on providing funds for the project despite some problems.

Replying to questions of Chinese journalists, Shehbaz Sharif
said the PML N government was fully aware of the challenges coming in the way of the CPEC, adding that some elements did not want competition of the CPEC but their designs would never be fulfilled.

The chief minister said the CPEC would be completed by overcoming every hurdle, adding the CPEC would prove to be a source of peace, prosperity, development and brotherhood.

He said Pakistan and China had common goals and no efforts
would be spared for achieving this joint goal. Shahbaz said the Punjab government had sent first batch of girl and boy students to China for learning Chinese language.

He added that soon a second batch of Pakistani girl and boy students would visit China for this purpose.

Chinese Consul General Yu Born said that Chief Minister Punjab
was very sincere and old friend of China and he had played a remarkable role in strengthening Pak China friendship.
He said that Chief Minister was forwarding the CPEC project with
personal interest.

Chinese journalists congratulated the chief minister on
recovery of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Spokesman Punjab government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Vice Chairman
Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Khalid Shaheen Butt, Inspector
General Police, Managing Director Mass Transit Authority, Chairman
Planning and Development, prominent anchor persons, columnists,
journalists and officials of Pakistan were also present.
