ISLAMABAD, Nov 01 (APP): Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Sayedaal Khan Nasir, Saturday said that the ITF Pakistan Ali Embroidery Mills International Junior Tennis Championship not only marked the conclusion of a successful sporting event but also reflected the courage, determination, and global aspirations of Pakistan’s youth.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the championship, Sayedaal Khan Nasir paid rich tribute to Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), lauding his efforts to promote tennis in Pakistan and to bring honour to the country on the international stage.
The event, hosted by the Pakistan Tennis Federation, was attended by renowned players, coaches, parents, and a large number of emerging tennis talents from across the country.
The Deputy Chairman commended Aisam-ul-Haq’s leadership for taking valuable initiatives to strengthen tennis from the grassroots to the global level.
He also appreciated former PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan for his visionary leadership, discipline, and institutional approach, saying that his contributions gave a new identity to the Federation.
“It is a remarkable achievement that under his leadership, the Pakistan Tennis Federation advanced from Group C to Group A in international rankings — a historic milestone,” he noted.
Sayedaal Khan Nasir said this progress mirrors the immense potential, enthusiasm, and resolve of Pakistan’s youth.
He reaffirmed that the government and parliament remain committed to promoting sports through institutional collaboration, improved infrastructure, and expanded opportunities for young athletes.
Expressing delight over the participation of players from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, South Punjab, and Sindh, he termed it a promising sign of inclusive sports development in the country.
Appreciating the government’s initiatives for sports promotion, he assured full support from the Parliament for future efforts in this regard.
“Sports play a vital role in nation-building by fostering tolerance, integrity, discipline, and self-confidence among the youth,” he said, emphasizing that sports are no longer limited to entertainment but have become a powerful means of economic growth, diplomacy, and national identity.
He highlighted that Pakistani youth continue to raise the national flag high across the world through outstanding performances in cricket, squash, hockey, and tennis.
Addressing the young athletes, Sayedaal Khan Nasir said, “You are not just representatives of your sport — you are the ambassadors of Pakistan’s identity and future. Your success is Pakistan’s success.”
He expressed confidence that the Pakistan Tennis Federation, with its professional commitment and dedication, would continue to promote tennis and secure a prominent place for Pakistan on the global tennis map.
The Deputy Chairman Senate extended heartfelt appreciation to the organizers, coaches, parents, and young players, saying their passion and hard work are the true guarantee of Pakistan’s bright future.
He concluded with a prayer, “May Allah Almighty bless Pakistan with progress, prosperity, peace, and continued success.”
