Young players display potential at Khawar Hyat Memorial World Junior C’ship

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): The ITF Pakistan Khawar Hyat Khan Memorial World Junior Championship Leg-1 continued at the PTF SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Monday with young players from around the world showcasing their skills and talent.

A total of 45 players, including boys and girls from countries including Kazakhstan, Turkey, USA, Hong Kong, China, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Romania, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, and Thailand are competing in the Championship.

Additionally, 27 Pakistani boys and girls are also taking part in the tournament.

In the Boys Singles Main Draw 1st Round matches, several thrilling encounters took place, with players exhibiting their determination and competitive spirit.

In some of the notable contests, Thailand’s Papangkorn Bunyarit defeated Pakistan’s M. Kashan Tariq 2-6,6-1,6-4
in a hard-fought match.

Pakistan’s Ahtesham Humayun emerged victorious against Ye Chan Choi of South Korea after a grueling three-set match  4-6,7-6(5),6-4.
China’s Zhe overcame Pakistan’s Bilal Asim in straight sets  6-2,6-2.
Ivan Makarov of Belarus secured a win against Pakistan’s M. Hamza Aasim 6-4,5-7,6-4 in a closely contested match.
Pakistan’s Ahmed Nael Qureshi cruised to victory over Daniil Varaksa of Russia 6-1,6-1.
Pakistan’s Hamza Roman delivered an impressive performance in his match against Par Chandragholica of Thailand, winning in straight sets 6-0,6-0.
