Yasir provisionally suspended for doping violation

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): Yasir Shah, the legspinner in National team, has been provisionally suspended from international cricket after being charged for violating an anti-doping rule, International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Sunday (December 27).

According to a news channel, the sample provided by Yasir was found to contain chlortalidone, a prohibited substance, the ICC said in a statement.

“The sample Yasir provided in an in-competition test, which was conducted on 13th November 2015, was found to contain the presence of chlortalidone, a Prohibited Substance, which appears in Section 5 of the WADA Prohibited List (in the category of Specified Substances).

“In accordance with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, pending the outcome of the disciplinary process, Yasir has been provisionally suspended.”
