Triple Olympian Khurram to lead Pakistan squad in Asian Shooting

KARACHI, Oct 28 (APP): Triple Olympian Khurram Inam will lead
Pakistan squad in the 13th edition of Asian Shooting Championship being staged in Kuwait City from November 1 to 12, National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) announced Wednesday.
The 20-member squad included 12 men, three ladies shooters, one junior
and three officials. Team members will start leaving to Kuwait in different batches from October 31.”We have selected the best shooters on the basis of their track record
and performances in the training camp,” NRAP Executive Vice President Razi Ahmed Khan told APP while announcing the team.
Khurram Pakistan’s legendary skeet shooters have the unique
distinction of representing Pakistan in three Olympics – Sydney (2000) Athens (2004) and London (2012) besides being a record of South Asian Shooting Championship.
The continental event will also serve as the quota distribution for
next year”s Olympic Games being held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
“Our aim to secure some direct entry in Olympics, It’s a big
challenge. But sharp shooters are fully geared-up to achieve something special,” Razi remarked. In presence of top shooters from China, India, Korea, Japan, Gulf
Region and other countries, Pakistan shooters to have produced their best to achieve their goal, he said.”It precision sport like shooting, shooters must get their act together to reach excellence to pave way to Olympics,” he commented.
Pakistan sharp shooters will be taking part in different events of
rifle, pistol and shotgun in the championship.
