Trials to select football probables for team of Private Universities concluded

PESHAWAR, July 16 (APP): A trials to select probables for the team of Private Universities concluded here at Qayyum Sports Complex on Saturday with more than 50 players from nine Private Universities took part.

Former International footballer and national team skipper and coach Gohar Zaman supervised the trials as head selector. Members of the sports committee from all participating nine Universities and Director Sports Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Center Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem were also present during the trials.

The players of the nine private Universities comprising Sarhad University, Iqra University, National University, Abaseen University, City University, CECOSE University, Northern University took part in the trials.

Out of the participating probables 20 were short-listed for the camp for one week before finalizing final 12 members teams. The selected team will represent Private Universities team in the Football event to be played at Malaysia from August 23.

Talking to APP, Director PSB Coaching Centre Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem said that there is more talent of various games in the Private Universities. He also lauded the efforts management of the Private Universities to come forward by selecting a team to represent Chartered University Forum of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the forthcoming International Football event. He said with the international exposure, more talented players would come up to represent Pakistan at national and international levels.
