Trials for national junior hockey team set for June 18-19

Pakistan Hockey Federation on Tuesday announced two-day official trials to shortlist players for the national junior hockey team ahead of the upcoming Junior Asia Cup.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 16 (APP): Pakistan Hockey Federation on Tuesday announced two-day official trials to shortlist players for the national junior hockey team ahead of the upcoming Junior Asia Cup.
The trials will be held during the ongoing training camp in Islamabad on June 18 and 19 at Naseer Banda Hockey Stadium.
According to the announcement, issued on the directives of PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, a specially constituted selection committee will supervise the trials. The committee includes:
Chief Selector: Olympian Samiullah Khan
Members: Olympian Nasir Ali and Olympian Naeem Akhtar
Players’ performance and fitness levels will be thoroughly evaluated to select the most talented and suitable athletes for the national junior setup.
The Selection Committee will receive technical support from Head Coach Olympian Ayaz Mahmood, Coach Olympian Syed Samir Hussain and Coach International Azfar Yaqoob.
The trials are being held with the final approval of the PHF president to ensure the team is formed purely on merit.
