Training camp for national boxing team begins ahead of Asian Games
ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (APP):A training camp for the national boxing team has commenced here at the Pakistan Sports Complex, as part of preparations for the 20th Asian Games.
The camp is being organized by the Pakistan Boxing Federation with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board, said a press release.
Five boxers will represent Pakistan at the Asian Games. President of the Pakistan Boxing Federation, Col. (R) Nasir Ijaz Tung, said that five boxers are taking part in the training camp, including two men and three women.
The male boxers are Samama Rehman and Irfan Khan, while the female boxers are Fatima Zahra, Maria Rind and Malaika Zahid.
The athletes are receiving advanced training under coaches Tariq Siddiqui, Muhammad Liaquat Mughal and Nisar Khan.
The 20th Asian Games are scheduled to be held in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
