MULTAN, Oct 07 (APP):Pakistani batter Abdullah Shafique has said that the team is focused on making a strong start in the first match of the series.
Emphasizing the significance of the first match in the series during a press conference, Abdullah said that the series is very important for the whole team, and the first match sets the tone.
Shafique acknowledged the challenges faced by sportsmen, underlining the need for mental strength to perform under pressure. “As athletes, we must be mentally tough to face the challenges that come our way,” he said.
He praised fellow teammate and Captain Shan Masood for his impressive batting, which he said gave a boost to the entire team. He said that Shan’s innings has energized the team and lifted everyone’s spirits.
Discussing the match conditions, Shafique observed that spinners are likely to play a key role as the game progresses. He also highlighted the impact of the weather, noting that the weather definitely has an effect on the game.
