Sport Gala begins at UAF

FAISALABAD, Oct 27 (APP): The Intra Faculty Sports gala,
aimed at promoting healthy activities among students,
was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan
of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) on
Tuesday.
The gala featuring football, cricket, basketball, badminton, tug of
war, athletics and other sports will contile till Nov 18.
Speaking on the occasion, the UAF Vice Chancellor said that the sports
culture was declining rapidly among the youth that demanded stepped-up efforts to promote healthy activities. With the advancement in
technology, he said, the youth had confined themselves to
computers, mobile phones, internet and TV etc. whereas playgrounds presented deserted look.
He urged students to participate in sports which
would inculcate in them abilities to face challenges with
sportsman spirit.
He said the UAF was making special efforts for
promotion of sports , adding new sports facilities including basketballs court, gymnasium and grounds were being added at the varsityto the system.
