Sindh Strikers dominate National Talent Hunt Boxing Championship

Sindh Strikers delivered an outstanding performance to clinch the top position with seven gold medals at the National Talent Hunt Boxing Championship, while Punjab Thunders finished second and Balochistan Eagles secured third place.

HYDERABAD, Apr 07 (APP):Sindh Strikers delivered an outstanding performance to clinch the top position with seven gold medals at the National Talent Hunt Boxing Championship, while Punjab Thunders finished second and Balochistan Eagles secured third place.
Organised by the Pakistan Boxing Federation in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, the boys’ and girls’ championship was held at the Hyderabad Club, featuring participation from 210 boxers representing 10 teams from across the country. Competitions were conducted across 21 weight categories, including 13 for boys and eight for girls.
Major General Yahya Suleman Gondal was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners along with Pakistan Boxing Federation President Col (retd) Nasir Tang and Secretary General Maj (retd) Irfan Younis. Senior Vice President of the federation and President of Sindh Boxing Association Asghar Baloch, along with other officials and dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.
According to the results, Sindh Strikers secured seven gold, one silver and three bronze medals to top the standings. Punjab Thunders claimed second place with four gold, two silver and five bronze medals. Balochistan Eagles and Balochistan Bulls shared third position with three gold medals each.
Among other teams, KP Tigers won two gold, three silver and one bronze medal, Sindh Stallions secured one gold, five silver and three bronze medals, and Punjab Warriors claimed one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Islamabad bagged two silver and six bronze medals, KP Lions earned one silver and three bronze medals, while Azad Kashmir secured one bronze medal.
In the junior category, Sindh’s Ayesha Khan was declared the best boxer of the championship.
Organisers said the championship aimed to promote boxing across the country and provide a platform for emerging talent, a goal that was successfully achieved through the event.
