ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (APP): Muhammad Shoaib and Ushna Suhail bagged the Khawar Hyat Khan Memorial National Ranking Tennis Tournament titles here at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Friday.
The tournament was aimed to honour late Khawar Hyat Khan, who served as the Senior Executive Vice President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) from 2015 until his passing on January 26, 2024.
Meanwhile in a thrilling Men’s singles final, Shoaib (PAF) claimed the title by overcoming Aqeel Khan with a score line of 7-5,6-3 (retired).
In the Ladies’ singles final, Ushna secured victory against Amna Ali Qayum 6-1,6-1 to become the champion.
The closing ceremony was attended by Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, Patron of the PTF, as the Chief Guest, while Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of PTF, served as the Guest of Honour. Col. (R) Zia-ud-din Tufail, Secretary General PTF, Khawaja Suhail, SVP PTF Col. (R) Gul Rehman, Director PTF, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Ex-DDG-PSB, and Azeem Shah,
former DG-CDA also attended the event.
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi congratulated all the winners and runners-up, encouraging them to work hard towards future success. He also expressed his gratitude to the media for their excellent coverage of the event.
