PESHAWAR, Jul 29 (APP):The second phase of the Tirich Mir Base Camp trekking expedition has been completed successfully.
A group of 20 trekkers returned safely to Chitral after concluding their remarkable journey, said a press release issued by KP Culture and Tourism Authority on Tuesday.
Under the guidance of Advisor to Tourism and Culture, Zahid Chanzeb, excellent arrangements were made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KP-CTA) in collaboration with the Tirich Mir Backpackers Club to ensure the smooth execution of this phase.
The trekking route led the group from Chitral to Shokhorshal Camp via Moroi, Koghuzi, Reshun, Golghari, Pakhturi, and finally to Oweer Shabronz.
After an overnight stay, the trekkers reached their final destination at the Tirich Mir Base Camp, where they spent their concluding night.
Director General KP-CTA, Habibullah Arif, congratulated the group on the successful completion of their trek and expressed optimism that such initiatives would significantly enhance tourism in Chitral.
He stated, this effort by the provincial government not only promotes tourism but also contributes to strengthening the local economy by supporting hotels, transporters and porters in the region.
He further added that the success of this initiative will pave the way for both domestic and international mountaineers to explore Tirich Mir—the highest peak of the Hindu Kush and other mountains in the region.
To support the trekkers, the KP-CTA provided national flags, T-shirts, caps, and water bottles.
The third group of Tirich Mir trekkers, comprising women from different provinces, is scheduled to depart for the base camp in the first week of August.
