RAWALPINDI, May 11 (APP):A panel led by Sabih Azhar secured victory in the District Cricket Association (DCA) Rawalpindi elections held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday, defeating the group backed by Masood Anwar and Ashraf Qureshi.
According to official results, Naveed Mushtaq Abbasi was elected as president if the association after securing 37 votes, while Billal Idrees got 34 votes in a close contest.
Zulfiqar Ali won the secretary’s slot with 40 votes, defeating Syed Ayub Rana, who secured 30 votes.
For the treasurer’s position, Asif Bajwa obtained 38 votes to beat Mirza Rashad Hussain, who received 32 votes.
Supporters of the winning panel celebrated after the announcement of results.
The newly elected office-bearers pledged to work collectively for the promotion and development of cricket in Rawalpindi.
