FAISALABAD, Oct 23 (APP):The Rescue-1122 Faisalabad team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, teamwork and skill and secured 2nd position in the National Rescue Challenge 2025.
A spokesman for Rescue-1122 Faisalabad said here on Thursday that Punjab Emergency Services Department organised the event in Lahore under the directives of Secretary Emergency Services Department Dr. Rizwan Naseer. He said that National Rescue Challenge 2025 brought together rescue teams from all divisions of Punjab along with participants from Pakistan Army, University of the Punjab, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sindh Rescue, Gilgit-Baltistan Rescue and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rescue.
He said that Regional Emergency Officer Faisalabad Division Faheem Qureshi and District Emergency Officer Engineer Ehtisham Wahla led Faisalabad team which impressed the judges and experts through their remarkable discipline, speed and technical precision.
He said that the competition featured multiple challenging events including trauma rescue, height rescue, fire fit, well rescue, swimming and water scuba rescue. Each contest was designed to test the physical endurance, coordination and crisis response capabilities of the teams.
Faisalabad team’s outstanding performance earned widespread praise from the experts and judges who commended their display of professional excellence and readiness to handle emergencies under pressure, he added.
Meanwhile, District Emergency Officer Engineer Ehtisham Wahla said that such competitions played a crucial role in boosting the confidence, skills and teamwork of rescuers in addition to ensuring their fully preparedness to respond effectively during real-life disasters and emergencies.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said that Secretary Emergency Services Department Dr. Rizwan Naseer and Regional Emergency Officer Faisalabad Division Faheem Qureshi appreciated the team’s achievement and congratulated Faisalabad Rescue 1122 team and Engineer Wahla on their commendable success.
Faisalabad team was also presented a trophy in recognition of their performance and lauded their hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to public service.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer also expressed hope that Faisalabad team would continue to uphold the same spirit of excellence and professionalism in the future, setting a benchmark for other divisions across the country to follow, the spokesman added.
