RAWALPINDI, Jul 16 (APP): National karate champion Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his determination to represent Pakistan on the international stage with an unwavering commitment, aiming to win medals and bring pride to the nation.
In an exclusive interview with APP, Shoaib shared that his journey at the national level began in 2023 at the National Games in Quetta, where he showcased exceptional skill and clinched a gold medal.
Reflecting on his performance at the 2024 National Games, Shoaib admitted to having not good experience, securing a silver medal. However, not letting disappointment define him, he used the setback as motivation, dedicating a year to rigorous training. His hard work paid off at this year’s National Games in Abbottabad, where he reclaimed the gold medal, marking a significant milestone in his career.
“I am trying to get maximum advantage from the improvement room I recently experienced during the national games for the upcoming events”, he said.
Shoaib also highlighted his international achievements, noting his participation in a karate event in Nepal in 2023, where he won two bronze medals. He considers these accomplishments pivotal to his career growth.
Expressing gratitude to his coach, Tanveer Ahmed, Shoaib credited his ongoing training under Tanveer’s guidance for his success. Looking ahead, he remains focused on excelling in global competitions and winning gold for Pakistan.
