PN Cricket team lifts Int’l Defence Forces Challenge Cup

KARACHI, Nov. 28 (APP): An International Defence Cricket Challenge Cup (IDCC) 2015 was held in Canberra, Australia from November 16-28.
The tournament was conducted on T 20 and One Day League Format. T 20 and One day matches were played amongst the teams of Defence Forces of different countries, says a press release of Pakistan  Navy on Saturday.
Ten teams from the World Defence Forces participated in the tournament. These teams included 4 from Australia, 2 from New Zealand,1 each from UK, Fiji, Malaysia and Pakistan.
Pakistan Armed Forces Team was represented by Pakistan Navy.
During the tournament, PN team played 4 x T 20 and 5 x One day matches
with various teams during the tournament. Pakistan Navy Team won all T
20 and One day matches. Pakistan Navy team qualified for the final
beating Royal Australian Navy by 6 wickets in the Semifinal.
The final one day match was played today between Pakistan Navy
and Royal Malaysian Airforce teams at Munaka Oval Ground Canberra,
Australia.
Pakistan Navy Team won the final comprehensively beating Royal
Malaysian Airforce team with 10 wickets in hand and 16 overs to spare.
Imran Ali- WIT 1 was declared best bowler, Owais Ahmed Rahamani
CPO/PTI was declared best batsman as well as Player of tournament.
Pakistan Armed Forces Team is already champion of IDCC 2012 and
Pakistan Navy cricket team remained successful in defending the title
for 2nd consecutive time.
