PCB to establish academies in Sindh, KP, FATA, Balochistan: Senate told

ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP): The Senate was informed on Thursday that thePakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had agreed to establish academies in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to promote cricket.
Senator Hasil Khan Bizenjo said this while laying a report of the Functional Committee regarding shifting of PCB Office from Lahore to Islamabad.
He said a meeting of PCB officials and members was called to get their
point of view on the issue, who were of the view that the PCB could not
be shifted from Lahore to Islamabad. He said Lahore was also part of the
country and there was no harm to have the office there.
He said the committee in its report had recommended that the board
would take necessary measures to make all cricket grounds operational
across the country.
He said there would be equal representation of all federating units in
composition of the Pakistan Cricket Board, he said.
Bizenjo said that office of other sports organizations like Hockey and
Squash did also not exist in the Federal Capital.
Initially, he said, the government had allocated a piece of land to
the PCB near Shakarparian for setting up the PCB office, which was cancelled
following the decision to keep the office in Lahore.
