PCB Chairman unveils plans to make PSL a Top-Tier T20 League

ISLAMABAD, Dec 08 (APP):Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has announced plans to transform the Pakistan Super League (PSL) into one of the world’s top T20 leagues.
Speaking at a historic PSL roadshow at Lord’s Cricket Ground, Naqvi revealed that a state-of-the-art cricket stadium with international facilities will be built in Islamabad, while a similar stadium is also planned for Muzaffarabad, said a statement issued here.
Naqvi said that the PSL will be converted into a limited company, with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) to be launched soon. To generate excitement among cricket fans, concerts will be held at all venues from December until the start of PSL 11.
The PCB has also launched its OTT platform, “PCB Live,” and has issued a new tender for international media rights. The prize money for PSL 11 has been increased, with the winning team receiving $500,000, the runners-up getting $300,000, and the best cricket development franchise receiving $200,000.
Naqvi emphasized that the PSL is emerging as a stable international brand, with a focus on expanding its global broadcast reach. He also highlighted opportunities for investors in the PSL, citing the league’s growing popularity and success.
The event was attended by cricket legends Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja, as well as PSL CEO Salman Nasir, who were part of a panel discussion at the roadshow.
