PBCC seeks govt’s advice for participation in Asia Cup

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4 (APP): Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has written a letter to the government to take their expert advice of whether the national team y should participate in the first-ever Asia Cricket Cup or not that is scheduled to be held in India next year.
The Asia Cricket Cup will be played between January 17 to 24. The other participating teams in the event include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
It is pertinent to mention that last month Cricket Association of the Blind in India (CABI) had requested PBCC to reconsider the decision to not participate in the Asia Cup after the PBCC pulled out the national blind cricket team from the Cup due to security concerns of the Pakistani nationals in India after the Shiv Sena’s attack on Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).
PBCC Secretary Muhammad Bilal Satti told APP that PBCC wrote the letter to the government on November 30 (Friday). “A reply from their side is awaited,” he said.
Satti said we will do whatever the government instructs us. “Pakistan is our top most priority and nothing else,” he said.
He said the India team is also expected to tour Pakistan in 2017 and for that they have taken permission from their government. “We will also consult our government of whether they allow us to hold a series with India here or not,” he said.
Speaking about the blind cricket activities, Bilal said a Super League is also being organized from November 28 at Bahawalpur. “A total of four teams will take part in the event and the teams will be finalized on November 10,” he said.
