Pakistan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial Jr Tennis C’ship finals on Friday

ISLAMABAD, Apr 23 (APP):The Treet ITF Pakistan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial Junior Tennis Championship (J-60, Leg-3) finals will be played here at the PTF Tennis Complex on Friday.
A total of 24 boys and 20 girls from 16 countries, including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, USA, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Netherlands, and Thailand, are participating in the championship.
The event is organised annually in memory of Late Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, who served as President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation from 2001 to 2009, as a tribute to his legacy, passion, and love for tennis.
Abubakar Talha staged a strong comeback in the boys’ singles semifinal, overcoming Mikaeel Ali Baig 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 to book his place in the final. He will now take on Luke Jie Xi Ho (SGP) in the title clash.
In the boys’ doubles competition, Pakistan’s Hamza Roman, Abubakar Talha, and Mikaeel Ali Baig put in solid performances to secure their spots in the final.
Boys Singles Semifinals: Luke Jie Xi Ho (SGP) beat Ganuka Fernando (SRI) 6-1,7-5; Abubakar Talha (PAK) beat Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK) 4-6,6-0,6-3.
Girls Singles Semifinals: Zhiyu Zhou (CHN) beat Yitong Lu (CHN) 6-0,6-1; Yerin Lim (KOR) beat Srimuk Phitchayaphak (THA) 7-5,6-1.
Boys Doubles Semifinals: Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK), Luke Jie Xi Ho (SGP) beat Jinxuan (CHN), Amir Mazari (PAK) 6-0,6-4; Abubakar Talha, Hamza Roman (PAK) beat Artem Bukin, Fedor Dorokhov (RUS) 6-1,6-2.
Girls Doubles Semifinals: Yerin Lim (KOR), Zhiyu Zhou (CHN) w/o Srimuk Phitchayaphak (THA), Yijia Wang(CHN) ; Zihan Feng(CHN), Kiko Okuyama (JPN) beat Yitong Lu (CHN), Ai teng(CHN) 6-4,2-6(11-9).
