FAISALABAD, Nov 06 (APP):Pakistan and South Africa have made two changes each in their playing elevens for winning the second One Day International (ODI) of the ongoing cricket series being played at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the home side has replaced leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed and middle-order batsman Hasan Nawaz with all-rounders Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Wasim Jr. to strengthen both the pace department and batting depth.
On the other hand, South Africa has brought in all-rounder Nandre Burger and leg-spinner Nqabaio Mzi Peter while Lungi Ngidi and Lizaad Williams have been left out.
The changes are seen as strategic moves by both sides to balance their squads in light of pitch conditions and first-match performances.
Pakistan’s line-up features Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Naseem Shah while South Africa’s team includes Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Quinton de Kock, Tony de Zorzi, Matthew Breetzke, Sinethemba Qeshile, Donovan Ferreira, George Linde, Corbin Bosch, Bjorn Fortuin, Nqaba Peter and Nandre Burger.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first in front of a charged Faisalabad crowd eager to witness another thrilling contest between the two sides.
The match is being played under full security arrangements, with thousands of spectators in attendance, marking another milestone in Faisalabad’s successful revival of international cricket after 17 years.
The third and final ODI of the Pakistan–South Africa series will also be played at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad on November 08, concluding what has been described as a highly spirited and well-organized international cricket series in the city.
