ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Pakistan’s team delivered a determined performance against Iran in their second Pool E match at the FIVB Boys’U17 World Championship 2016 in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
After opening their campaign with a convincing 3–0 victory over Chinese Taipei, Pakistan faced a strong Iranian side in a highly competitive encounter, said a press release.
The young Green-shirts fought hard throughout the match but ultimately went down 0-3.
Match Result: Pakistan 0–3 Iran Set Scores: Set 1: Pakistan 23–25 Iran Set 2: Pakistan 22–25 Iran Set 3: Pakistan 18–25 Iran.
Pakistan started the match with confidence and competed closely with Iran in the opening set. The Green Shirts remained within touching distance throughout the set, but Iran managed to secure the crucial final points and take the opening set 25–23. The second set followed a similar pattern, with Pakistan showing determination and challenging Iran through strong attacking play and disciplined defense. Iran, however, maintained its composure during the decisive stages to win 25–22. Pakistan continued to fight in the third set, but Iran gradually established control and eventually closed out the set 25–18, completing the 3–0 victory.
Despite the result, Pakistan’s young players demonstrated courage and determination against one of the strongest youth volleyball teams in the region. Pakistan’s World Championship Campaign Continues Pakistan now has one victory and one defeat in Pool E after its first two matches.
The Green-shirts began the championship with an impressive 3–0 victory over Chinese Taipei, before facing a tough challenge against Iran. The team will now turn its attention to its final Pool E match against Algeria, where Pakistan will aim to bounce back strongly and secure another positive result in the World Championship.
In the next match, Pakistan will face Algeria which will be an important encounter for Pakistan as the team looks to finish the pool stage strongly and continue its campaign at the global championship.
The Pakistan Volleyball Federation has appreciated the efforts of the young national team and coaching staff following today’s match against Iran.
The federation urged the players to remain positive, learn from today’s experience, and focus completely on the upcoming match against Algeria.
The young Green-shirts have already shown their potential on the world stage with their opening victory over Chinese Taipei, and the team remains determined to give its best in the remaining competition.
