ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 (APP): Pakistan registered a convincing 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic in the 5th–8th position placement match at the World Junior Squash Team Championships in Egyptian capital Cairo on Thursday.

According to information made available here by Pakistan Squash Federation, Pakistani players exhibited great skills and temperament to pull off the win.

Abdullah Nawaz battled through a five-game thriller to defeat Martin Stepan 11-8, 7-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7, giving Pakistan an early lead. Muhammad Umair Arif followed up with a dominant performance, cruising past David Linhart 11-3, 11-4, 11-1 to seal the tie for Pakistan.

With this win, Pakistan advanced to the 5th-place playoff, where they will face Korea in their final match of the event.
