Pakistan defeat South Korea 3-1 in first test match of hockey series

ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (APP):Pakistan hockey team started the four-match test series against South Korea on a winning note, defeating the visitors 3-1 in the opening match at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium here on Thursday.
Pakistan dominated the contest with a strong attacking display and scored twice in the second quarter, while adding another goal in the third quarter to secure a comfortable victory.
Forward Sufyan Khan was the star performer for Pakistan, scoring two goals through penalty corners, while captain Abu Bakar Mahmood also contributed with a field goal. South Korea’s lone goal came from Ji Hun Yang.

Pakistan led 2-1 at halftime after goals from Sufyan Khan and Abu Bakar.
Sufyan completed his brace in the third quarter through another penalty corner in the 36th minute.
The Korean side managed to reduce the deficit but Pakistan’s defence remained firm in the final quarter to seal the match.
The second match of the test series between Pakistan and South Korea will be played on Saturday at the same venue.
The series is part of Pakistan’s preparations for upcoming international assignments.
