ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP):The Pakistan Davis Cup Juniors team has arrived in Shymkent, Kazakhstan ahead of the Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying Event, taking place from May 19 to May 24, 2025.
According press release issued here on Friday, The team earned its spot in this prestigious tournament by winning the qualifying event in Kuching, Malaysia in March 2025.
The Pakistani squad includes players Abubakareel Ali Baig, and Hamza Roman with Shahzad Khan serving as the team captain.
Captain Shahzad Khan expressed confidence in his team’s abilities, stating, “Our players are fully prepared and fit. We are optimistic about replicating the outstanding performance we delivered in Kuching.”
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), wished the team success, saying, “This team is a strong combination of talent and dedication. They performed exceptionally well in Kuching, and hopefully, they will continue that momentum in Shymkent.”
Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary General of the PTF, also offered his support, saying, “Good luck to our boys. Play with heart and the results will naturally follow.”
The event will showcase some of the best junior tennis talent from across Asia and Oceania.
