RAWALPINDI, Jul 09 (APP): Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming Test series against West Indies got underway on Thursday as the national Test squad assembled for a pre-series training camp at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The players took part in a three-hour training session under the supervision of the coaching staff. Head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed, batting coach Asad Shafiq and bowling coach Umar Gul conducted drills covering batting, bowling and fielding to fine-tune the squad ahead of the tour.
Test captain Babar Azam, along with the rest of the squad, also had an extensive net session on the practice wickets as the team intensified preparations for the two-match series.
As part of the build-up to the tour, the Pakistan Test team will play a two-day intra-squad scenario match on Friday and Saturday to assess match readiness and provide players with valuable game practice.
Pakistan will face West Indies in a two-match ICC World Test Championship series from July 25 to August 10. The first Test will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, while the second Test is scheduled at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
