Pak wrestling team named for Commonwealth Games in Australia

LAHORE, Jan 31 (APP):Pakistan Wrestling Federation on Wednesday announced six-member national team to take part in the Commonwealth Games being held in April in Gold Cost Australia.
“The team was selected following one day trials held here at
the national training and coaching centre”, said Muhammad Arshad
Sattar, Secretary, PWF while talking to APP.
He said top notch grapplers belonging to all the affiliated
units of the PWF participated in the trials which were watched
by the national selection committee.
“Selection was based on merit keeping in the individual talent
and potential of the wrestlers and their previous showing in the
national and international events home and abroad”, he said.
The team is, Muhammad Bilal, 57 kgs ,Abdul Wahab ,65 Kgs Muhammad
Asad Butt, 74 Kgs ,Muhammad Inam, 86 Kgs ,Umair Ahmad ,97 Kgs and
Tayab Raza, 125 Kg.
He said the selected team will undergo camp training under the
watchful eyes of national coaches till departure of team to Australia.
