KARACHI, Dec 16 (APP): Secretary General of International Softball Federation (ISF), Ms. Dato Low Beng Choo, has lauded the popularity of the game at the school and college level in Pakistan.
She was talking to Secretary General of Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP), Asif Azeem, said a message received here on Friday from Kuala Lumpur.
Azeem is participating in the 23rd Softball Confederation Asia Congress being held there.
Ms. Choo further stated that it would be our endeavor that more and more qualified coaches and umpires from the SFP were afforded the opportunity to participate in the coaching and umpiring courses of ISF and Softball Confederation Asia (SCA).
This, she added, would enable them to be well aware of the latest techniques and new rules of the game.
Choo was of the view that there was a need of organizing more tournaments among Pakistan,Iran, Iraq and India for preparing players in these countries for international events.
On the request of Azeem, she said that steps would be taken for sending international coaches to Pakistan.
Azeem also appealed to Ms. Choo that supply of softball gears should be ensured to Pakistan so that youngsters could benefit from these.
On the occasion, he also presented souvenir to Ms. Choo on behahlf of the PSF. SCA’s secretary general, Sally Lim and SFP’s Syed Shujauddin were also present.
