LAHORE, Dec 16 (APP): Pakistani duo of Rizwan Azam and Kashif Sulhari caused the biggest upset of the Nepal international badminton series by eliminating the top seed pair of India Anilkumar Raju and Venkat Gaurav Prasad to roar into the men’s doubles final on Friday.
The Pak players dazzled with awesome performance to make short work of their Indian opponents in straight games 21-25, 25-23, said the information made available to APP here.
Rizwan and Kashif produced their so far best form and performance of the event to show exit to the Indian pair who tried its best to match the superior showing of Pak players but failed.
“It was a very important match for us and we displayed our best form to outplay Indian players,” said the winning pair in the post match comments.
“We did not take the pressure that we are playing the Indian duo and we countered them with collective efforts and fast paced attacking game,” they added.
Pak players will face yet Indian duo Arjun M. R & Ramchandran Shlok in the final tomorrow, Saturday.
