LAHORE, Oct 6 (APP): Pakistan men junior and women junior handball teams will be leaving on Friday for Bangladesh to participate in the International Handball Federation (IHF) South and Central Asia men & women Handball Trophy being held in Dhaka from October 9-13.
“The participation of our teams, both male and female,will help in raising the standard of handball,besides giving boost to our efforts for the development of the game”, a spokesman of Pakistan Handball Federation while talking to APP said here on Thursday.
Following is the national junior side: Shahid Ali,Shah Nawaz,Ali Hassan ,Muazammal Hussain,Muhammad Bilal Ajmal,Khuram Shahzad,Muhammad Junaid Akram,Rajab Ali,Shahid Mukhtar,Adeel Tahir,Muhammad Arslan Ashraf,Tahir, Sabdal,Muhammad Rashid and Zain Rafiq.Team officials: Abid Hussain (Coach),Noor Zada (Manager),Asif Ali and Muhammad Zubair (Referees) Pakistan women team comprises following players: Saiqa Riaz,Sidra Khalid,Zahra Nisar, Sehar Iqbal, Nazish Shahzadi, Raeesah Muhammad Ali, Urva Naz ,Saira Toqeer, Shumaila Ahmad ,Noor Fatima,Mafia Parveen,Minahil Munawar,Fatima tul Zahra and Shanza Ali.
Team officials: Amna Tanwir (head of the delegation), Muhammad Sohaib, Javed Iqbal (Coaches).
Pakistan men team will play its first match against Maldives on October 9 and women team will play its inaugural match against India on the same day.
He said both the national junior teams attended preparatory camps under the supervision of experienced coaches and it is hoped that Pak teams will put up good performance in the event.
“During this event,our coaches and referees will also attend the International coaches and referees course to upgrade their existing knowledge”,he said.
President, PHF Muhammad Shafiq will supervise the event being Secretary Asian Handball Federation.
