LAHORE, June 6 (APP): Pakistan Badminton Federation on Monday announced its four member junior team to take part in SCG Badminton Asia Junior Championships being played next month in Bangkok, Thailand The team has been named after two day trials held at New Khan badminton hall in which players from all the affiliated units of PBF participated and the best available talent was chosen, said a spokesman of PBF here.

He said Punjab players dominated the trials and out of four, three are
from Punjab. Following were selected ,Shahmeer Iftikhar, Shehroz Jamil, Ahmer Jalal (Punjab) and Zohaib Khan Khalil (KPK).

The players will participate in boys singles and doubles events and we
expect good performance from them, he said adding the selected team will undergo extensive training here under the supervision of national coaches till its departure to Thailand.

The spokesman said PBF is taking every measure for the promotion of the game and it is ensuring the participation of its national junior and senior teams in important Asian tournaments to expose the players to high profile experience.

PBF is holding National Junior and Senior Badminton Championships next  month we are confident to identify badminton talent from these events which will be groomed under a systemized programme, he added.
