Pak athletics team departs for Asian Youth Games in Bahrain

ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): A four-member national athletics team departed from Lahore for Bahrain via Dubai to participate in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, scheduled to be held from October 22 to 31.

The squad comprises three male athletes and one female athlete: Ghulam Murtaza, Muhammad Behram Khan, Iqra Riaz, and Muhammad Hussain Faiz. The team is being accompanied by coach Simi Rizvi, who will oversee their preparations and performance during the event, said a press release.

Coach Simi Rizvi expressed confidence in the athletes’ potential, stating that the prayers of the nation are with the team. She added, “Insha’Allah, the athletes will deliver an impressive performance at the Games and gain valuable international exposure.”

Chairman of the South Asia Athletics Federation and President of the Asian Athletics Association, Maj. Gen. (R) Muhammad Akram Sahi, along with President of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan Brig. (R) Wajahat Hussain, conveyed their best wishes and heartfelt support to the national contingent.

The 3rd Asian Youth Games will take place in Bahrain from October 22 to 31, featuring young athletes from across the continent competing in various disciplines.
