ISLAMABAD, Jul 21 (APP): Pakistan’s Nauman Khan booked a place in the pre-quarterfinals of the World Squash Junior Individual Championships 2026 after defeating England’s Gabriel Chak in the Round of 32 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada.
According to information received here, Nauman fought back strongly to secure a 3-1 victory with game scores of 11-9, 9-11, 11-6 and 13-11, becoming the first Pakistani player to qualify for the last 16 of the boys’ individual event.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Muhammad Umair Arif, seeded 25/32, bowed out of the championship after suffering a 3-0 defeat to France’s Amir Khaled Jousselin. The French player won the match 11-1, 11-3 and 11-2.
Two more Pakistani players, Yahya Khan and Abdullah Nawaz, were scheduled to play their Round of 32 matches later on Tuesday (Pakistan Standard Time). Yahya was set to face Egypt’s Seifeldin Rafaay, while Abdullah, seeded 13/16, was due to take on the United States’ Barendan Tagliarini.
