LAHORE, May 06 (APP):Amar Cables outplayed Bahawalpur Mustafa Seniors by eight wickets and moved into the regional semi-finals of the 20th National Veterans Cricket Cup here on Monday at Shah Faisal Cricket ground.
Bahawalpur Seniors batted first and were all out for 155 in 28.3 overs. Rehan Rafique 42, Kamran Hussain 35, Fayyaz Hussain 21 and Fawad Anwar 17 were their main scorers.
Amar Cables notable wicket takers were Rehan Rauf 3/18, Akbar Ali 3/31, Ahmad Shahab 2/35, Imtiaz Tarar 1/10 and Waqas Ahmad 1/21.
Amar Cables answered with 156 for 2 in 21.2 overs and their win owed to their half century makers Jamshaid Salman 66 and Zahoor Elahi 61. Ashraf Ali made 18.
From Bahawalpur, Kamran Hussain got 1/29 and Shabbir Ahmad claimed 1/20.
Zameer Haider and Muhammad Asif stood as umpires and Qasim Shafique acted as scorer. At the end of the match, Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association Chief Executive Officer Ashiq Hussain Qureshi gave away the Man of the Match Award to Zahoor Elahi.
