National BoK Open Women Squash Championship begins

PESHAWAR, Mar 20 (APP):National Bank of Khyber Open Women Squash Championship got under way here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday.
Secretary Irrigation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Senior Vice President KP Squash Association Daud Khan, Vice President Intikhab Chamkani, Head of the Blue Tone Academy Wazir Gul, Head Coach of PAF Squash Academy Atlas Khan, Nazim Nawa Khali Sajjad Khan, and President KP Squash Association Qamar Zaman, officials, players and spectators were also present.
Both Secretary Irrigation KP Daud Khan and Intikhab Khan Chamkani formally inaugurated the Championship in which female players from all across Pakistan are taking part.
In the opening match Annum Mustafa of Sindh shocked Nimra Aqeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 11-9, 11-9 and 11-2 in a one-sided affair.
Earlier, in the qualifying round Sibga Arshad of Punjab, Shafaq Choudary of Punjab, Maira Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kalsoom of Khyber Pkahtunkhwa entered into the main round after recording victories against their respective rivals in the qualifying round matches.
In the first match Sibga Arshad of Punjab defeated Eman Zahir Shah of KP by 3-0, the score was 11-3, 11-3 and 11-2, Shafaq Choudary of Punjab defeated Maryum Hamayun of Punjab by 11-4, 11-8 and 11-2, Maira Khan of KP recorded victory against Zohra of KP by 11-7, 11-9 and 11-7, Kalsoom of KP beat Faseeha Rehman of Punjab by 3-0, the score was 11-7, 11-9 and 11-7.
In the first qualifier Maryum Hamayun of Punjab beat Laila of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 3-0, the score was 11-4, 11-6 and 11-7, Zohra of KP beat HIna of KP by 3-0, the score was 11-1, 11-3 and 11-4 and Kalsoom beat Manahil Durrani of Punjab by 11-4, 11-7 and 11-9, Faseeha Rehmat of KP beat Wareesha Mehwish of KP by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 6-11, 11-7 and 11-7 and Sibga Arshad of Punjab beat Aneela Khan of KP by 3-0, the score was 11-6, 11-5 and 11-7. Shafaq and Maira have a bye and were moved to the second qualifier without any match.
