National Archery Championship from Jan 15

PESHAWAR, Jan 10 (APP):National Archery Men and Women Archery Championship will be commencing under the aegis of Pakistan Archery Federation and Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here at Qayyum Sports from January 15, 2018.
This was stated by Secretary Pakistan Archery Federation Muhammad Wisal Khan while addressing a press conference on Wednesday. Associate Secretary Pakistan Olympic Association Zulfiqar Ali Butt, members of the judges and organizing committee were also present.
Muhammad Wisal Khan said that arrangement in this connection have already been completed well in time for the smooth conduct of the Championship for the third times in Peshawar. He said Peshawar had the honor of conducting the opening National Championship in 2013.
He said President Pakistan Olympic Association Lt. Gen. (Retd) Arif Hassan, who is also President Pakistan Archery Federation, will be gracing the occasion as the chief guest at the closing ceremony on January 17, 2018 at 2.30 p.m.
He said former Sports Minister KP Syed Aqil Shah, who is also President KP Archery Association, will act as Chairman Organizing Committee. He lauded Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan for extending all out support to KP and Pakistan Archery Federation for holding the Championship.
Muhammad Wisal Khan said that four provinces comprising Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, FATA, Islamabad, Higher Education Commission, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Wapda, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Police and host Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would take part in three different categories including Individual Event, Team Event and Mix Team event.
He said, three male and as many female would represent their respective teams in the 70 meters contests to be organized under the rules of World Archery Federation.
He said Director General Sports KP Junaid Khan will grace the occasion as chief guest at the opening ceremony to be organized on January 15 at 11.00 a.m. For the smooth conduct of the Championship, Muhammad Wisal Khan disclosed that they have constituted a jury of appeal, judges, and markers committees.
The judges penal comprising Imran Khan, Qazi Asad, Imtiaz, Sarfaraz and Asghar, jury of appeal committee including Manzar Shah (Punjab), Iltaf Shinwari (Balochistan), Mansoor Shehzad (Sindh).
The organizing committee headed by Muhammad Wisal Khan with other members comprising Shahid Shinwari, Ilyas Afridi, Kifayat Ullah Khan, Jehanzeb Siddique, Khurshid Iqbal, Babar Khan, Abid Khan, Sherez Muhammad, Malik Saqib, Qazi Asad, Ijaz Ahmad, Khalid Noor and Tariq Perez, Khalid Waqar, Muhammad Tasaul Haq. He said the teams will be arriving on January 14, 2018, followed by the manager meeting on the same day.
