Nasir Iqbal moves into semifinal of President Gold Cup

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (APP): Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal made it to the
quarterfinals of President Gold Cup International Squash Championship-2015 on Sunday after defeating Jordan’s Ahmad Al-Saraj in the quarterfinal here at Mushaf Squash Complex.
Nasir outclassed his opponent in over half an hour encounter to win the
match in straight sets 11-6,11-6 and 11-7.
However, Pakistan’s Farhan Mahboob suffered defeat at the hands of
Egypt’s Omar Abdel Meguid in a nail biter.
The Egyptian won the first game 11-6 but Farhan came back in the match
by winning the next two games with 12-10 and 11-9.
The set was again taken away by Omar with the game score 11-8. Omar
dominated in the final game as well and easily won it 11-4. The match lasted for 78 minutes.
In the third quarterfinal Todd Hamity of USA defeated Pakistan’s Tayyab
Aslam in closely contested fixture.
Hamity won the match 11-7,12-10 and 11-8.
The match lasted for 38 minutes.
The fourth quarter final was played between Karim Al Fathi and Danish
Atlas.
Both the players displayed superb stroke play but Karim Al Fathi of Egypt managed to win the match with the game score 11-6,12-10,4-11 and 12-10. The match lasted for 69 minutes.
