LAHORE, Mar 27 (APP):A delegation of Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD) called on Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar and discussed various aspects of 72nd Punjab Games at National Hockey Stadium, on Wednesday.
The delegation, which included Khizer Hayat, Tauseef Dilshad, Shafique Ahmad, Muhammad Ahmed, Muhammad Jaffar, Fayaz Ahmad and Najeeb Ahmed, participated in a key meeting of Sports Board Punjab held under the chairmanship of Punjab Sports Minister RaiTaimoor Khan Bhatti.
The DG Sports Punjab briefed the delegation about the major features of upcoming Punjab Games being organized by Sports Board Punjab with the cooperation of Punjab Olympic Association at various venues in Lahore from April 3 to 6, 2019.
The minister said that the Punjab Games had a long history in the subcontinent. “The Punjab Games were held even before the partition and produced several world class sports stars in the past,” he added.
DG SBP Nadeem Sarwar said the Punjab Games 2019 will provide the talented athletes a suitable platform to demonstrate their potential. “Talented players of nine divisions will exhibit their sports skills during the sports extravaganza,” he added.
The MPDD officers appreciated holding of Punjab Games. “Punjab Government and Sports Board Punjab are making excellent arrangements for the Punjab Games and we hope that these games will play a major role in portraying a positive and soft image of Pakistan,” they said.
