FAISALABAD, Nov 04 (APP): Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Badar Chaudhary visited Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad during the first One-Day International cricket match between Pakistan and South Africa to review security and administrative arrangements for the historic return of international cricket to the city after 17 years.
Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar and City Police Officer Sahibzada Bilal Umar received the dignitaries while senior PCB officials and representatives from district administration and law enforcement agencies were also present on the occasion.
According to official sources, the PCB Chairman thoroughly inspected security setup, reviewed entry and exit procedures and appreciated the inter-agency coordination which ensured a smooth and secure environment for the international fixture.
Mohsin Naqvi lauded efforts of the police, district government, Rescue 1122 and other security and civic institutions for their effective management and round-the-clock commitment.
He expressed satisfaction over the robust security measures implemented in and around Iqbal Stadium and termed them a reflection of Pakistan’s growing capability to host major international sports events with world-class standards.
The PCB Chairman appreciated Faisalabad’s enthusiastic response and termed flawless arrangements as an excellent precedent for future international fixtures.
He also assured that the government and PCB would continue to work together to organize more international matches in Faisalabad, underscoring the city’s potential as a vibrant sporting hub.
