LAHORE, May 21 (APP):Aspiring young footballers were seen busy in learning modern day football techniques on the opening day of the Model Town football academy summer camp here on Monday at MFTA ground.
Players, boys and girls, were separately taught basics of the game under the watchful eyes of experienced coaches, said MFTA President,
Mian Rizwan Ali while talking to APP.
He said passion of learning football was immensely growing among
the present generation and girls are also taking keen interest to take
up football as a sport.
He said the three months long camp will help in sharpening the
skills of the players besides engaging them in a healthy activity
during the summer vacations.
“It is the need of hour to engage the youth in a physical activity rather allowing them to spend hours on playing games on computer
screens”,he said.
Giving details of the summer camp training programme, MFTA Chief
said during Ramadan the evening session of boys having age 6 to 16 years, will be held three days a week from Monday to Wednesday while girls
session will be from Thursday to Sunday. The timing will be 7:40 to 8:40 pm. After the Holy month of Ramadan the four day a week evening session from Monday to Thursday will be held from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. The girls
U16 summer football camp will continue four days a week in evening session. It will be arranged from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on Thursday to Sunday.
“It is good opportunity for our girls to become fine footballers”,
said MTFA President Mian Rizwan Ali.
