BAHAWALPUR, Jul 30 (APP): Under the auspices of the Prime Minister Talent Hunt Programme and the Higher Education Commission, Lahore Qalandars organised incentive cricket trials for male and female players at the cricket ground of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB).
The two-day event saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of talented boys and girls. The trials were conducted over two days: the first day featured trials for male players, followed by female players on the second day. After rigorous assessments, Lahore Qalandars shortlisted 16 boys and 16 girls, who are now poised to compete against other teams from across Pakistan. Outstanding performers among these players may earn the opportunity to join the Lahore Qalandars’ squad and showcase their talent on a national stage.
Chief Executive Officer Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana expressed his gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran and the university administration for their excellent arrangements and facilities. He appreciated the lush and well-maintained cricket ground, highlighting its potential for nurturing future cricket stars. During the event, Atif Rana also shared his interest in establishing a branch of the Lahore Qalandars’ High Performance Academy at the university. He conveyed his eagerness to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to foster cricket development and talent nurturing in the region.
This initiative emphasizes Lahore Qalandars’ commitment to promoting cricket talent at the grassroots level and strengthening partnerships with educational institutions to build a brighter future for Pakistani cricket.
