ISLAMABAD, Sep 26 (APP): Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has asked jobless players, meeting certain criteria to contact it for finding some respectable job.

The PHF has asked the jobless players within the age bracket of 18-27 to contact it for the purpose. Those, who have attended a national hockey camp (either for the national senior team or any national age group team) have also been asked to contact the federation, a PHF spokesman said on Monday.

He said that since assuming the charge President PHF Brig ® Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and Secretary General Shahbaz Ahmed had been striving to get jobs for the hockey players.

For this, they are in contact with some departments and have been encouraged by their response, he said.

One of the prime reasons for the decreased interest in hockey among the youth of today is the lack of job opportunities for the hockey players. In the past, many departments offered jobs to hockey players on the basis of their playing prowess.
